Eligibility for whole blood donation

Based on the donation type, there are some of the requirements donors must meet to be eligible to donate blood that includes:

  • Must be at least 18-65 years old to donate blood.
  • Allergy, stuffy nose, itchy eyes, dry cough, and acute infection are not acceptable.
  • A person having low or high BP can donate as long as their BP is Diastolic 90 to 100mm Hg and Systolic 100 to 180 mm Hg.
  • You must be in good health and feeling well at the time of donation.
  • You can again donate blood after 3 months of your last donation.
  • You must weigh at least 45kg.

Eligibility for RBC Donation

  • You must be 18-60 years age and having a minimum weight of 50kg.
  • Your pulse rate lies between 50 and 100 without irregularities.
  • You should have a minimum hemoglobin level of 12.5 g/dl.
  • You must be in good health and feeling well.
  • You must not be suffering from transmittable diseases.
  • You can gain donate RBC after 4 months of your last donation.

Eligibility for Platelet Donation

  • You must be 18-65 years age and having a minimum weight of 50kg.
  • Your pulse rate lies between 50 and 100 without irregularities.
  • You should have a minimum hemoglobin level of 12.5 g/dl.
  • You must be in good health and feeling well.
  • You can again donate platelet after 7 days of your last donation.

Eligibility for Plasma Donation

  • You must be 18-65 years age and having a minimum weight of 50kg.
  • Your pulse rate lies between 50 and 100 without irregularities.
  • You should have a minimum hemoglobin level of 12.5 g/dl.
  • You must not be suffering from transmittable diseases.
  • You can again donate plasma after a month from your last donation.
  • You must be in good health and feeling well.
